GAC
Grand Arena Championships — SWGOH's flagship PvP mode where players bracket-compete weekly, defending and attacking with their roster across multiple zones. GAC scores determine your Kyber, Aurodium, Chromium, or Bronzium division placement.
Grand Arena Championships (GAC) replaced standalone Grand Arena as the main competitive PvP mode in SWGOH around 2020. Each season runs five weeks, with a new match every 48 hours against a similarly-ranked opponent. You set defenses, attack their defenses, and earn points for clears (full clear is worth the most), banner count, and time bonuses.
Players are grouped into divisions: Kyber (top), Aurodium, Chromium, Bronzium and below. Within each division you compete in 8-player leagues, with promotion or demotion at season end. Reaching Kyber 1 is the unofficial benchmark of a top-tier roster — typically requires multiple Galactic Legends, deep counter coverage, and well-modded relic characters.
GAC meta is shaped heavily by Omicron abilities tagged "Grand Arena," Datacron buffs targeting popular factions, and the latest Galactic Legend kit. A new GL release can shift the meta overnight as players scramble to either field or counter the new unit. Defenses tend to favor "anti-counter" setups designed to punish specific attacking squads.
Iconic GAC anchors include Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (legendary defense kit), Supreme Leader Kylo Ren (raw offense with Ultimate burst), and Jabba the Hutt (faction-defining lead for Hutt Cartel teams that can stall almost any attack). Mastering GAC requires understanding both your own roster and the current meta counters — a R7 squad with bad mods loses to a R5 squad with great mods almost every time.

Galactic Legend
The top tier of characters in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, gated by stringent unlock requirements such as 7-star journey ticket characters and an Ultimate ability charged across multiple battles. Galactic Legends define endgame meta and most GAC matches.
Omicron
A premium ability material introduced in November 2021 that activates mode-specific bonuses on abilities. Omicron effects only apply in the designated mode (Grand Arena, Territory Wars, Territory Battles, Conquest, or Raids).
Datacron
A seasonal stat boost system in SWGOH that grants tag-based bonuses (e.g. +100% Speed to Empire) and special ability effects via a three-tier skill tree. Each Datacron season lasts roughly six months and introduces a fresh pool of buffs.
Mod Set
A bonus unlocked by equipping multiple mods of the same type on a character. Common sets are 4× Speed (+10% Speed), 4× Health (+15% Health), 2× Critical Damage (+30% CD), 2× Critical Chance (+8% CC), and 2× Potency (+10% Potency).
