Speed

The most important stat in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes — it determines how fast a character fills Turn Meter and gets to act. Speed is the single biggest factor in turn order, and most meta squads are built around maximizing it.

Speed is the king stat in SWGOH. Every other stat — damage, survivability, debuff application — matters less than going first. A faster character takes their turn before a slower one, which means they get to deal damage, apply debuffs, or cleanse buffs before the enemy can do anything about it. In Grand Arena and Squad Arena, going first often decides the entire match.

Speed comes from three main sources: the character's base Speed (set by their kit), Speed primaries on mods (only available on the Arrow slot), and Speed secondaries (can appear on any mod slot). A typical endgame character has a base Speed around 130-180, plus +30 from a Speed arrow primary, plus 40-90 from Speed secondaries — landing them in the 200-280 range.

Critical Speed breakpoints matter more than raw numbers. If your character is 1 Speed faster than the opponent's leader, you get the first turn — that 1-Speed gap is worth thousands of crystals of mod farming. Top players track their squad's Speed down to individual digits because the difference between 248 and 249 Speed can flip a GAC match.

Datacrons frequently grant Speed bonuses to specific factions, dramatically shifting meta when a season releases. The fastest characters in the game — Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, General Skywalker, and droids like C-3PO under specific leads — exist at the top of the meta largely because of their Speed advantage, not their damage output.
